Plug-In Hybrid Prototype from Bright Automotive to debut in May 2009

Startup Bright Automotive will launch a prototype smart grid compatible, 100-mile per gallon plug-in hybrid electric vehicle this May.

The SUV/light truck-class vehicle, which will debut at the EVS24 auto show in Norway, will run in all-electric mode for the first 30 miles before switching to hybrid mode for a full range of 400 miles, the company said.
