Honda has announced some details of its showing at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show next month. Interesting, the announcement involves the automaker's luxury brand.

According to the press release, Honda plans to debut a "newly refined 2012 TL". Acura isn’t releasing any information on the 2012 TL just yet, but it’s safe to say the car’s front grille will be revised from the 2011 model shown here. Now that the MDX and ZDX have received the six-speed automatic transmission, don’t be surprised if the TL gets it, as well. Currently, the 2011 TL is rated 18/26 mpg city/highway in front-wheel-drive form, with a five-speed automatic. A six-speed automatic would likely increase those figures.

Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales, will introduce the production vehicle at the press conference, to be held on February 9, 2011 in the Acura booth. The press conference will be webcast live on www.acuranews.com.

2010 Acura TSX V-6 - A Look at the New 'Six' Engine

We've always applauded Acura's decision to stick with a high-revving, high-personality, high-efficiency four-cylinder in the TSX. For 2010, Acura's smallest sedan gains an optional V-6, but we're not complaining. So what gives?

Simply put, the market has changed. Once upon a time, twenty percent of TSX buyers opted for a manual transmission. Now, fewer than one in twenty does. The larger and more grown-up second-generation TSX is appealing to a different crowd--and doing so at a very respectable pace despite our disastrous economy--and these buyers are cross-shopping competitors with powerful six-cylinder engines.

Power-hungry buyers can now opt for a TSX with the base TL's 3.5-liter V-6. It produces more torque off idle than the standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder does at its peak, so keeping up with brisk traffic no longer requires repeated forays to the high end of the tachometer scale...Continued

TORRANCE, Calif. - 04/23/2009 American Honda Finance Corp. (AHFC) this week launched Acura-branded financial services to better satisfy the needs of Acura dealers and customers.

The creation of Acura Financial Services (AFS) marks a major milestone in Acura history. This is just the first step of a multifaceted effort to further enhance customer service and raise the brand image for Acura, the luxury nameplate that pioneered the launch of Japanese luxury automobiles in the U.S.

Power and Associates Consumer Financing Satisfaction Study, the timing is perfect to utilize our years of experience and expertise to create financial services that will meet the needs of Acura clients," said Stephen E. Smith, senior vice president of AHFC. "The creation of separate Acura-branded financial services parallels other moves to strengthen and differentiate the Acura luxury brand."

Acura New Crossover To Take On BMW X6?

The auto world is a very competitive one. There are no such things as friends or buddies between the brands. Acura and BMW are competitors. With that stated, looks like Acura has a new surprise for BMW.

Acura has whats seems like a new crossover in testing according to the spyshots gathered. The crossover model features dramatic coupe-like styling similar to BMW's X6. Caught testing in the U.S., the latest prototype sports an extremely low roofline that starts to descend after the B-pillar and will give the car a coupe-like profile. No details have been released as of yet but we'll keep you updated.
