Is it possible to be both high-tech and sporty at the same time? Well, Mercedes-Benz aftermarket car whiz Brabas aims to prove so as it gets into the "iBusiness" side of things The S600 makes 510 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque from its twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-12 in factory trim, impressive figures any way you cut it. Brabus, however, decided its iBusiness needed more motivation and gave it the proper treatment. The V-12 gets stroked and bored out to 6.3 liters and larger turbochargers are used to boost engine performance. A stainless-steel exhaust expels gases and the final output is 740 horsepower and 995 pound-feet of torque, although the tuning firm has dialed the torque back to 811 pound-feet to preserve the modified five-speed automatic transmission and get the power to the rear wheels efficiently. |
