The Port of Los Angeles has put into service the world’s first all-electric port truck, a behemoth capable of hauling 60,000 lbs. of freight.

My first thought upon hearing I'd be spending a week with the entirely new 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan was, Wow, they still make minivans?


Since the crossover SUV did to the minivan what the minivan did to the station wagon, it always surprises me when a company throws significant resources at one. A minivan, that is. And Toyota clearly has. The new Sienna is in most ways a complete peach, heads and tails better than the van it replaces. It's really quite nice. For a minivan. My front-wheel-drive XLE 8-passenger test car (one of, oh, a dozen models — seriously) was crypt-quiet and sufficiently swift, with a 266-horsepower V-6 doing the work. And, really, that's no small amount of work: The thing weighs 4500 pounds unladen...
